CUB SCOUT PACK 928 joined the volunteers who helped with the Port of San Diego's "Big Bay Balloon Parade" on Monday, December 29, 2008. The parade, also known as the "Holiday Bowl Parade", features 22 giant balloon, from Clifford the Big Red Dog to Mr. Potato Head. Several marching bands and military and rescue vehicles also make up the procession. Pack 928 helped in carrying banners in the parade, along with several other Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts in the area.
Our scouts braved a chilly start, meeting at 7:30 am at Qualcomm Stadium to take the trolley ride to downtown. The sun was out, and the day quickly warmed as we waited for the parade to get underway.
We were represented by Andrew, Garrett, Jake, Luke, and Spencer. Luke's sister Pixie joined to make and even number so we could carry 3 banners. Everyone did great and we enjoyed seeing all the people lined up to watch the parade. Thank you to all who took the time to take part in this fun event!
