Den 2 Community Service at Allied Gardens Park

ON SATURDAY, MARCH 14th, the Wolf Scouts of Den 2 performed a community service project with litter pickup around Allied Gardens Park. The boys, along with siblings and guidance from parents, patrolled the park for about an hour and each picked up and average of a plastic grocery shopping bag full of trash. After the pickup, the Scouts helped with a cookout and worked on earning their Weather Belt Loop. Great job Wolf Scouts!

Ready, Set, Grow!

MARCH - PINEWOOD DERBY TIME! The month of March is the traditional Pinewood Derby Race time for Pack 928. Also, the Cub Scout theme of the month for March is "When I Grow Up". Let's see how the future Cub Scout race car drivers do with their pinewood derby cars. Who will be the fastest? Who will have the best paint job? Who will have the coolest design? We'll find out on March 21 at the Allied Gardens Park Shuffle Board courts at noon. For the Scouts who want to test and tune their cars, come out to the practice session at the park on March 14 at noon.

Good Luck Scouts!

Blue & Gold - A Huge Success

PACK 928's BLUE & GOLD Banquet on Monday, February 23, 2009 was a huge success. The Cub Scouts and their families and friends enjoyed some great food and entertainment at Marvin Elementary. Thank you to all who helped out Friends of Scouting. A big Thank You to everyone who helped make our Blue & Gold great!

All the kids, big and small, had a blast enjoying our entertainment from Judy Taylor and her Wild West show. The music, trick-roping, gun spinning, and bull whips were fantastic!

The ceremonies from Den 5 and Den 8 reminded us all of the true spirit and history of scouting. Excellent performance scouts!

And, what fun would a Pack event like the Blue & Gold be without some awards? Prizes and commissions for Popcorn Sales were presented to the scouts who participated in our major fundraiser of the year. Great work scouts!
