Pack Meeting Was a Smashing Success

OCTOBER PACK MEETING was a "smashing" success!
Pack 928 had a great time with a costume contest and pumpkin auction. Congratulations to all the scouts who won ribbons for their homemade costumes. Everyone did great with their creative creations!
The pumpkin auction was a huge success! We had many lively pumpkins for auctioning. A big THANK YOU to all the parents who bid on them. The ugliest pumpkin met its fate with a baseball bat. What fun it was watching one lucky scout having a go at smashing it. That was one tough pumpkin!
Thanks to all who helped out with the meeting. It takes many parents working together to make a successful Pack, and we sure have one here!

Cub Scout Roundup Meeting

IF YOU MISSED our Roundup meeting, don't worry. Boys in 1st through 5th grade are welcome to join our pack anytime. If you live in the area, regardless of what school you attend, come check us out!

Our special Cub Scout Roundup meeting is Tuesday, October 7th at 7 pm in the auditorium at Marvin Elementary. Marvin is located in Allied Gardens at 5720 Brunswick Avenue, San Diego, 92120. If you are thinking of joining the Cub Scouts, this is a meeting you don't want to miss! Come join us with your family for this informative meeting.

October - Books, Costumes, Popcorn and Pumpkins!

OCTOBER - Fall is upon us (although you wouldn't believe it by the weather!). This month's theme is "Adventures in Books". Time to take a trip down to the local library and check out a few books. If your scout does not yet have his own library card, now is the time to get him one!

Our October Pack meeting will be full of fun. We are having a costume contest, so be sure to wear your costume! We will also be holding our "Pumpkin Auction". Bring your decorated or carved pumpkin and we will auction it off to the highest bidder. This is a fun, great fundraiser for our Pack, and ALL of the money stays right here. If you bring the ugliest pumpkin, you might even get to see it smashed to smithereens! See you there on October 27th at 7 pm.

Popcorn sales continue through the end of October. Keep up the selling! This is our BIG fundraiser for the year. Volunteers do all the work, but supplies, awards and events need to be paid for. And remember, your scouts can earn prizes or gift cards for selling.

September Pack Meeting Monday!

UPDATE: Our new Cub Scouting year had a great start with the September Pack Meeting. Many Summertime awards were presented. Congratulations to all the scouts on their fine work and dedication! Hope everyone enjoyed the tasty ice cream!

Our first Pack Meeting for the new school year will be Monday, September 29th at 7 pm in the auditorium at Marvin Elementary. Join us as we catch up with old friends and get ready to make new ones. We will also have our annual Ice Cream Social. Yummy!

California Coastal Clenup Day

UPDATE: Scouts from Pack 928 helped out with gathering rocks to line walking trails, distribute mulch around the plants, and paint a mural on a dumpster.The open space park near the river looks great now! Thanks to those who came out and devoted their time and energy for a good cause.

Join us for the 24th Annual California Coarstal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 20, 2008. Our Pack is signed up for the Mission Valley River Garden from 9 am til 12 noon. The address is 3264 Camino Del Rio North, San Diego, 92108. Click here for more information.

September - "New Buddies"

Ahhh...September - Back to School! As we get back into the school routine, we are also starting up the new year for Cub Scouts. This month is all about "New Buddies", time to welcome new boys to the exciting world of scouting! New Tiger Cubs will be joining us from first grade. Some new friends will be joining from other grades. Let's welcome them all!

Our first Pack meeting of the school year is this month on Monday, September 29th. Pack meetings are at 7 pm in the auditorium at Marvin Elementary. Whether you're a brand new scout this year or just want to see what it's all about, come and join us for the meeting.

Looking ahead...our Round-Up will be on Tuesday, October 7th at the Marvin auditorium. The Round-Up is our big gathering for new scouts. Here you will find out about the fun and exciting things we do. If you are new to scouting or just want to get more information, please plan to attend this fun event.
